"Healing begins the moment hope enters."
I am passionate about providing a safe, non-judgmental space in therapy for you to feel comfortable sharing your story and being authentically yourself. I take special care to work with you on discovering your strengths and moving at a pace that feels comfortable as we move toward you being the most healed, full version of yourself. My hope is that we uncover your passions and strengthen your relationships along the way. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, adjustment to disability, and stressful life events or trauma. I am a strengths-based, client-centered clinician who utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of each client.
I have been a therapist for over a decade and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I provide mental health services in a school setting which includes providing counseling and crisis intervention services to students and their families. I have been in a group counseling practice since 2022 and have recently felt drawn to start Hopeful Healing Counseling with a focus on holistic wellness and the ability to take insurance so that my services are accessible to more people.
I have previously been a counselor in several community mental health settings providing individual and group therapy to adolescents and adults. I am also an adjunct faculty member at Maryville University. I teach a variety of counseling courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program and "Counseling Skills for Healthcare Professionals" in the Myrtle E. and Earl E. Walker College of Health Professions. I also received the Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award in 2021 while teaching Internship and Advanced Internship for the Rehabilitation Counseling graduate program.
